When I was 13, I started playing with makeup and skincare in a serious way. I graduated from CVS (but not before leaving a facemask open on my vanity that burned through the marble finish) and moved on to the makeup department at Macy’s and Nordstroms. They bookend my local mall and I would spend hours at each testing, sampling… getting a full glam look at the Chanel’s counter. During one of my shopping sprees, I was sold the Erno Laszlo Sea Mud Deep Cleaning bar face soap. I started using it day and night, feeling very fancy. But I also started getting horrible deep cystic acne. Which made me use it even more, and my skin kept getting worse.
No filter, no retouching, just Slip Tint Radiant All-over Concealer.
I went to the dermatologist who put me on antibiotics. Which I took for years.
Then I would cover my acne with thick foundation sticks resulting in a cakey mask-like look.
When I look back I feel deceived and lied to. I was playing and having fun and yet, I was doing real damage to my body. It wasn’t until I stopped using traditional makeup and took it upon myself to understand how ingredients affect our skin biome that my skin cleared up.
Everything we make at Saie is made for sensitive skin like mine, but our latest launch is something I’ve been specifically dreaming of ever since my acne started when I was 13. A radiant concealer that covers and it truly good for your skin - with NO cakeyness. It is perfect. Easy, effortless, good for you. It won’t make you breakout (it’s non comedogenic and derm tested) - I also love that you can use it all over.
My high school bestie Lindsey, who has seen my skin in every iteration along the way, recently told me Maddie on team Saie is incredible at shade matching. Here is how you can work with Maddie too. You can email customer service (hi@saiehello.com) a picture of yourself without makeup on, in natural light and she will shade match you instantly. Or if you prefer Instagram you can DM a picture.
And of course you can find Slip Tint Concealer at every Sephora nationwide.
Happy playing,
Laney
