I moved to Sag Harbor full time 5 years ago and while I have lots more to discover, here are some of my favorite spots. There’s too many for just one post, but these are my most frequented and beloved. Figured now is a good time to post while so many people are visiting our sweet town (reminder to be extra, extra polite and drive slowly!).
Breakfast/Coffee
Carissa’s Sag Harbor: Of course I love how beautiful the space is with it’s clean and Norwegian-inspired interiors, but it’s the food that it what keeps us coming back. We get everything, the coffee and matchas, pastries and sandwiches, salads and packaged goods (I specifically love the tinned trout.)
My ideal order: the garden salad, a ham and cheese sandwich, tahini cookie and an oat matcha.
Grindstone: Out of all the coffee shops in town (of which there are many), we frequent Grindstone the most. Their coffee is excellent, and we’re coffee snobs so Grindstone gets my number one spot. The donuts are so good, I highly recommend those as well. My ideal order: a lemon poppyseed or strawberry donut with an oat cappuccino.
Jack’s: While not my first stop since I don’t love their coffee, I do love to get a slice of Gone Bananas Bread and sit with friends on their sidewalk tables and chairs.
Dinner
Tutto Il Giorno: I call this our cafeteria because you’ll always see someone you know at Tutto. The food is really nice and I like the atmosphere. It’s Donna Karen’s daughter’s restaurant so the decor is part of Urban Zen and you can shop it. My ideal order: Rosemary flatbread, Tri-colore salad and spaghetti.
Minnow: You need a boat to get there from Sag Harbor, but let’s say you have a boat, I highly recommend taking a cruise over to Minnow. Excellent food and it’s single use plastic free. Naturally I love it there.
Le Bilboquet: Probably our most frequented because it’s so close to our house. While it can be a bit scene-y I like the energy and eating on the deck looking at the water and hopefully a sunset. My ideal order: tomato gazpacho, cajan chicken, chocolate mousse.
Sen: I have a very specific order that I eat at Sen. It’s a Sag Harbor classic that people love but I prefer the delicious hot food over the sushi most days. My ideal order: steamed shrimp shumai with extra spicy mustard, tofu teriyaki with white rice.
Il Buco al Mare: We don’t get to Il Buco as much as we’d like since it’s in Amagansett but it’s great and a fun date night spot.
Honorable mentions: Moby’s, Sag Harbor Tavern, Maidstone, Smokey Buns.
Shopping
Henry Lehr: If you’re looking for a classic hamptons outfit, this is your spot. I love it for it’s classic Frank and Eileen button downs, Vintage Moussy cut off jean shorts and striped tees.
Goop Sag Harbor: The only place you can find Saie in the Hamptons but also a great place to get gifts, a last second outfit and cute accessories.
The Row: Definitely my most frequented store in the Hamptons. I love all of The Row designs for their minimalist and super elevated design, unparalleled quality, and unquestionably chic style, but I also really like their third party curation. Ask for Kristina or Kat when you get there.
For kids (specifically girls): Pink Chicken in Amagansett and Stella and Ruby’s in Sag Harbor are your best bet. Great brands and super cute selection of everything from dresses to accessories to crafts.
Other
Sag Harbor Florist: where I get all my flowers from. Just stunning.
Cavaniolas: best cheese shop I’ve ever been to
Monc XIII: incredible interiors store. The owner has impeccible taste.
Sage Street Antiques: a gem, if you can go when it’s open.
Hamptons Vintage: An excellent vintage fair that Marla and I try to never miss.
The Wine Stand at Wolffer: Go on Fridays and get a bottle of rose and listen to the live music and run into friends.
loveeeee
